The likely evolutionary purpose of this is that men needed to hunt efficiently. Conversely, if women had too much T, they would likely lose the children, who run very, very fast. The tradeoff, of course, is that women got the skill of multi-tasking (running children plus cooking plus whatever else needed doing.), as the gift of low T.
