Furthermore, MJ was 0-6 against the Stitch admit it now working at BJ’S would be boring without me shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this Larry Bird Celtics in the playoffs and lost three other playoff series to the Detroit Pistons. For six long years, MJ and his Bulls were dominated by the Celtics and Pistons. Was that because MJ was a crappy player and not a team player? No, it was because the Celtics and Pistons had better teams. But MJ’s fanboys and fangirls never use that logic where Wilt is concerned. They blithely ignore the fact that the Bill Russell Celtics have five Hall-of-Famers starting and usually two or three more Hall-of-Famers on the bench. There is no mystery involved. One or two Hall-of-Famers cannot defeat a team of eight Hall-of-Famers. So there’s a simple reason for Bill Russell having eleven rings. He always played on the best team, duh. And Bill Russell understood this and didn’t claim that rings made him the best player. Rather, he freely admitted that Wilt Chamberlain was the greatest basketball player of all time, both in his book Go Up for the Glory and in interviews. Why? Because he had eyes to see, and a brain to process what his eyes saw.
We should be able to see what the Stitch admit it now working at BJ’S would be boring without me shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this great Bill Russell saw, and process the same information. In reality, there is no contest. Wilt Chamberlain is clearly the NBA GOAT. I decided to do an experiment. I didn’t have time to research every game in the Wilt Chamberlain/Bill Russell rivalry. So I picked one game out of a hat. The game I picked was one played on March 24, 1960, which the Celtics won 119-117 over the Philadelphia Warriors as they clinched the playoff series 4-2. Wilt played 48 minutes and had 26 points and 24 rebounds. The Warriors’ bench played 22 minutes and contributed 2 points. The bench players were Andy Johnson and Joe Grobaski, neither of whom I have ever heard of before. They were 1-5 on field goal attempts and 0-1 on free throws. The Celtics who were sixth, seventh and eighth in minutes were Hall-of-Famers K.C. Jones, Bill Sharman and Sam Jones. Three very well-rested Hall-of-Famers, mind you. They contributed 65 minutes, 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. So the Warriors’ top five players outscored the Celtics’ top five by 21 points and the Celtics’ next three players scored 23 points and won the game by 2 points. I’m sure we would find something similar in other games. The Celtics were a much deeper team, and their best players were better rested. Russell played the full 48 minutes, probably because Wilt did and no one else could hope to defend him. But the rest of his team was well-rested, and that was the strategy and the ball game.
